The Savvy, Skills and Soul of Treatment Planning in Addiction




This keynote will focus on person-centered, recovery-oriented treatment planning in chronic disease management of substance use disorders.  It will outline principles for individualized treatment planning to engage people in a collaborative, respectful, and outcomes-driven process that attracts them into recovery.


Participants will

  • Review principles of individualized treatment planning in addiction as a chronic disease.

  • Apply ways to individualize problems, goals, strategies and progress notes that have client “buy-in” and collaboration.

  • Identify how to document treatment and match severity and function with intensity of services using ASAM criteria multidimensional assessment.
